Cultural Responsiveness, Clinical Perspective

As an Afro-Caribbean and clinician, I hold a deep awareness that identity, culture, and systemic experiences shape both clients and clinicians in the therapy space. Cultural context is not separate from clinical work—it is central to how we understand trauma, healing, relationships, and behavior.

In my consultation and supervision work, I emphasize culturally responsive care, ongoing reflection, and curiosity about how different frameworks may need to be adapted in order to truly meet the needs of diverse communities. I strive to approach therapy in a way that centers lived experience, honors complexity, and resists one-size-fits-all assumptions about healing.
